H.C. DeBoard III is a third generation preacher on both his mother's side and his father's side. He attributes much of what he knows to hard life lessons. Not just the lessons he learned himself, but the lessons he watched his family and friends learn as they struggled through life.
He is a Veteran of the United States Air Force where he served on Active Duty in the early 90's during Desert Shield Desert Storm. He was a member recipient of the Presidential Unit Citation for his part in Operation Restore Hope in Haiti and his work in the cleanup of a devistating crash over Pope Air Force Base in 1996 that took the lives of dozens of troops. While on Active duty, Herman received stellar performance ratings, promotions below the zone and the National Defense Service Medal. Herman was honorably discharged in 1996 due to service connected disabilities.
Herman then returned to college at Marshall University where he completed his Bachelors Degree in two short years. He was then accepted to the Marshall University Graduate School where he complete his Masters Degree in Communication Studies. His 4.0 GPA then carried him through to his current Ph.D. work in Education.

While working on his degrees, Herman entered the Federal Civil Service Field and held positions in multiple agencies and multiple states. Some of his positions were: Public Health Educator, Program Manager III, Project Manager, Chief of Communications, and Director of Technology. Working in the federal government gave Herman more experience working with diverse groups of people.
Herman is now the Director of Technology for The Willis Group Unlimited in Colorado Springs, CO where he directs all technology aspects for seven privately held companies such as:
